Shapescape’s educational Minecraft world Ocean Heroes has officially surpassed one million downloads on the Minecraft Marketplace, a major milestone for environmental education through gaming.

Launched to raise awareness about ocean conservation, Ocean Heroes invites players to dive beneath the surface, explore marine ecosystems, and take action to protect them. Since then, the Minecraft and Minecraft Education world have become global teaching tools, used in classrooms and learning programs around the world.

Learning About the Ocean Through Play

Ocean Heroes was designed to help students understand the impact of pollution, coral bleaching, and climate change through interactive, hands-on gameplay. Instead of reading about marine science, players experience it directly by cleaning plastic waste, rescuing sea creatures, and restoring coral reefs.
